What size dog suits my family

Hybrid, Designer Dog Breeds: What Does F1,F2,F3, F1b, & F2b mean?
What's The Best Size Goldendoodle For City or Apartment Living?

Contrary to popular belief, small size doesn't necessarily make an apartment dog — many small dogs are too high-energy and yappy for life in a high-rise. Being quiet, low energy, fairly calm indoors, and polite with the other residents are all good qualities in an apartment dog.

The  Goldendoodle does well in small spaces because they are more laid back and they prefer to just chill out after their daily energy burn.

Dogs for older people.
Choosing the right dog for Seniors

Many older people end up with medium-high to higher energy dogs and just cannot keep up with what the dog needs. The dog becomes “hyper” and possibly a hazard. There is little behavior modification can do if the physical needs of the dog cannot be adequately met, this is why matching a puppies energy to our families is so important to us.

Crossbred dogs and designer dogs are often referred to as F1, F2, F1b, F1bb, F2b or multigenerational.. It is just the accepted nomenclature in which we can distinguish hybrid dog breeds between the different generations. This naming standard in here applies for dogs, designer dog breeds, hybrids and mixes, but it is also commonly (and scientifically) applied to cats, cattle, plants, and most living organisms (even cells.) .

P Generation
100% Purebred Dog.
These dogs are the fruits of true breeding, meaning they are purebreds and belong to a specific dog breed.

F1 Generation
50% Purebred-A,    50% Purebred-B
These dogs are the result of the breeding of two purebred dogs. Half of each dog is the mother’s breed, and the other half is the father’s breed.

F1b Generation
75% Purebred-A,   25% Purebred-B
These are F1 backcrossed dogs.
They result from the mating of an F1 parent and a P parent. This is used to intensify traits found in the P parent’s breed, for eg to achieve higher non allergy genetics.

F2 Generation
50% Purebred-A,    50% Purebred-BF2
These dogs are the offsets resulting from the mating of two F1 hybrids.

F2b Generation
75% Purebred-A,     25% Purebred-B
These are second-generation backcrossed dogs. Each F2b dog is the offset of an F1 parent and an F1 backcrossed (F1b) parent.
Example: a goldendoodle whose mother is a Goldendoodle F1 and father a goldendoodle F1b.

F3 Generation
50% Purebred-A,     50% Purebred-B
Offsets coming from the mating of two F2 hybrid parents.
Example: a Goldendoodle whose mother is a Goldendoodle F2 and father a Goldendoodle F2.

Multi Generation Often can be the mix of 3 breeds, for eg. Poodle, Golden Retriever & Cocker Spaniel.  F3 or higher-generation hybrid dog crossed with an F3 or higher-generation hybrid dog. This is a more generic nomenclature and is mostly expressed using the generation of each parent, such as F4 Goldendoodle x F2 Cockapoo.
Example: a Goldendoodle whose mother is a Goldendoodle F3 and father a Goldendoodle F5.
